Rosette Design
I use handmade soundhole rosettes on all of my guitars except the 2a. Rosette making is one of the most satisfying artistic and aesthetic apects of making a guitar, and it's among the parts I look forward to the most. I take inspiration from traditional Spanish ideas as well as contemporary ones, but each design is uniqely mine. I'm also happy to work with you to create a meaningful and personal design.
I also like to use bolder patterns that show off natural woods such as Padauk, Bloodwood, Ebony, Maple and Spanish Cedar.
Here are some of my designs using traditional wood mosaics. The one in the center contains over 7,000 pieces of wood.
